Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program Volunteers Needed
Do you like helping people? Serving your community?
Then the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program may be just what you are looking for. VITA is a program that involves volunteers from many walks of life to help taxpayers who cannot afford professional tax assistance.
For over 10 years, Community Child Care Council (4Cs) of Alameda County VITA program has helped low-income families (including non-English speaking families) and those with special needs, to include persons with disabilities. VITA volunteers prepare income tax returns; provide information and referral to programs and services available at Community Child Care Council (4Cs) of Alameda County.
Become a vita volunteer!
There are many volunteer opportunities with VITA, even if you are not interested in preparing taxes. We need Tax Preparers, VITA Greeters, Screeners, and Translators (we are especially looking for volunteers who are fluent in Spanish, Mandarin, Punjabi, Farsi and American Sign Language). See all descriptions of volunteer opportunities here and information for new volunteers here.
Volunteers must attend training sessions and devote 3-5 hours per week from January to April 15, 2020. Opportunities are available in Hayward. If you are interested in learning more about VITA volunteer opportunities, please contact Joni Chantigian, VITA Site Coordinator at (510) 690-2150 or email@example.com to set up a VITA information meeting.
